There are heroes, and there are the rest of us. There comes a time when you just let go of the ghost of the better person you might have been."
-John Burnham Schwartz, author of Reservation Road
No commentary, no attempts to rationalize. Just gaze, if you dare, on the stupid!

Rest of us?
Oh, he was just talking about mortals. People don't worship us idols as they used to.
Nah. They're too busy following false idols like OPrah instead of real gods like Dr. Phil.
I thought you hated quotes and those people who used them?
I have a love/hate relationship with epigrams. What I hate is people who rely on them almost exclusively. I once has a journalism advisor whose articles were nothing more than one long ass quote. I think they can be useful in small doses, and since this is a writing blog, I thought I might share otherwise unknown quotes from authors.
Let me know if ain't workin'...

i have to tell you something funny Nads, I was flipping through the channels yesterday, and guess who I did spy? Kurt Vonnegut! He had a cameo in this movie with Rodney Dangerfield called "Back to School", lol.
You know I loooove quotes, so it's working just great for me.
WHAT!? How did I miss that??? Gotta see if I can find that stupid movie now.
The movie is actually pretty funny. Sam Kinison is in it too and he's hilarious with all his yelling.
McSweeney's did a lovely interview with Vonnegut just before he died, it was great.
Ah, McSweeney's. Some of the best short stories I have ever read...
